Brasília International Book Biennial returns to Brazil

The Brasília International Book Biennial has returned to the Brazilian capital after a four-year hiatus. Running until Sunday, August 23, the event focuses on the theme ‘Reading Tomorrow’ (Ler o Amanhã).

The biennial aims to foster a lasting relationship with reading by providing opportunities for children, adolescents, and adults to discover new literary possibilities. The programming integrates literature, culture, and education to encourage reading as a daily habit rather than just a temporary activity.

Writer and teacher Gabi Vasconcelos noted that literature can expand perspectives and encourage young people to imagine new life trajectories. Experts emphasize that reader formation begins in early childhood through contact with stories, play, and various artistic expressions involving families, schools, and libraries.
