Overview

The 6th Brasília International Book Biennial (BiLB) returned to the Brazilian capital at the National Museum of the Republic after a four-year hiatus. Held from August 17 to 23, the event operated under the theme ‘Reading Tomorrow’ (Ler o Amanhã), aiming to foster reading habits across all age groups through literature, culture, and education.

During the event, political candidate Elisson Ferreira proposed a permanent reading policy to support small writers, independent publishers, and storytellers within the Federal District. The biennial also served as a platform for regional literary recognition. Writers from Tocantins—André Goveia, José Benilson, and Zacarias Martins—received public recognition diplomas from the Taguatinga Academy of Letters (ATL) during a literary salon commemorating the academy’s 40th anniversary.
