Brasília International Book Biennial returns to National Museum
The 6th Brasília International Book Biennial (BiLB) took place from August 17 to 23 at the National Museum of the Republic. The event marked the return of the biennial to the Brasília cultural calendar after a four-year hiatus.
During the event, Elisson Ferreira, a candidate for the Government of the Federal District, proposed the establishment of a permanent reading policy. His plan aims to support the book production chain by providing continuous incentives for small writers, independent publishers, and storytellers across the administrative regions of the Federal District. Ferreira also highlighted the need for improved infrastructure and mobility around the National Museum and the National Library.
Additionally, the biennial featured participation from Tocantins writers André Goveia, José Benilson, and Zacarias Martins. The trio was honored with public recognition diplomas by the Taguatinga Academy of Letters (ATL) for their cultural contributions. The celebration included an autograph session and a literary salon commemorating the 40th anniversary of the ATL.
