Bratislava adds 18 new articulated buses to upgrade city transport

The Bratislava public‑transport operator (DPB) placed 18 new low‑floor SOR NS 18 articulated diesel buses into service, the first vehicles of an 80‑bus contract aimed at renewing the city’s fleet. The buses feature air‑conditioning, USB‑A/C charging ports, a real‑time information system and driver‑cab assistance technologies such as blind‑spot elimination and collision warnings.

DPB board chair Martin Rybanský said the vehicles are intended to provide “higher comfort for our passengers and for our drivers, with spacious seats and safety‑assistance features.” Mayor Matúš Vallo added that the rollout is part of Bratislava’s ambition to make its municipal transport the best among medium‑sized European cities without a metro. DPB expects the total fleet to grow by about 100 vehicles by the end of the year.
