Bratislava expands public transport and Wizz Air announces new Poprad-Prague flights

Bratislava's public transport operator, Dopravný podnik Bratislava (DPB), is increasing service capacity and frequency starting in September. Key changes include more frequent service on line 61 to the airport, with intervals of 5 minutes during morning peaks and 6 minutes in the afternoon. Line 70 will see reduced intervals during the school year, utilizing articulated buses to increase capacity. Additionally, lines 83 and 84 will see increased frequency, providing a combined connection between Dúbravka, Patrónka, the city center, and Petržalka every 3 minutes.

In the aviation sector, Wizz Air has announced a new direct flight connection between Poprad-Tatry Airport and Prague. Scheduled to begin on October 25, 2026, the route will operate three times a week on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This new link aims to provide easier travel for residents of central and eastern Slovakia and Czech tourists visiting the Tatra Mountains.
