Bratislava introduces pilot cross-border bus line to Austria
A new pilot cross-border bus line, number 902, is being introduced to connect Bratislava with several Austrian border towns, including Berg, Kittsee, Edelstal, and Prellenkirchen. The trial period is scheduled to run from September 28 to December 31, 2026.
During this three-month testing phase, the service will operate on weekdays and Saturdays at two-hour intervals. To encourage usage and gauge interest among commuters and leisure travelers, the transport will be free of charge. The route begins at the Farského stop in Bratislava and aims to provide a direct public transit alternative to personal car travel for those commuting for work or school.
Data collected during this period will determine whether the connection becomes a permanent part of the regional public transport network. The service will complement the existing line 901, which connects Bratislava to Hainburg an der Donau.
