Braunschweig driver fined for using non-compliant pink parking disc

A driver in Braunschweig, Germany, received a 20-euro fine despite using a parking disc with the correct arrival time. The penalty was issued because the parking disc was pink, which violates strict German regulations.

According to the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) and a 1981 directive, parking discs must meet specific design standards to be valid. They must be 110 millimeters wide and 150 millimeters high, and the color must be exactly the blue shade RAL 5017 or 5005. Any deviation from these specifications renders the disc officially invalid.
