Braunschweig outdoor swimming pool season concludes

The outdoor swimming pool season in Braunschweig has concluded. The Bürgerpark pool closed on September 8, while the Raffteich pool ended its season on September 6. The Raffteich facility will reopen briefly on September 13 specifically for a dog swimming event.

Citybad GmbH reports that the season was exceptionally well-attended, with visitor numbers expected to exceed 100,000 across the three outdoor pools. This high turnout was attributed in part to the second warmest summer on record, including temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius.

As outdoor facilities close, indoor pools such as Wasserwelt, Heidberg, and the Bürgerpark indoor pool are resuming or continuing operations. The Heidberg sports pool resumed regular swimming operations on September 7.
