Brazil 2026 Election Demographics: Women lead Marabá electorate, Recife metro holds 42% of state voters

Data from the Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) show that women constitute a slight majority of the electorate in Marabá, Pará. Of the 179,484 eligible voters, 91,537 (51%) are women and 87,947 (49%) are men. The largest age groups are 40‑44, 25‑29 and 35‑39, together accounting for about one‑third of voters. Nearly half of Marabá’s electorate (49.8%) have at least a complete high‑school education, while 4.6% are illiterate.

In Pernambuco, the Recife Metropolitan Region (RMR) concentrates 3,016,723 voters, representing 41.7% of the state’s 7,225,744 eligible voters. Recife alone accounts for 1,228,592 voters, followed by Jaboatão dos Guararapes (498,144) and Olinda (301,743), together exceeding two million. The remaining 58.3% of voters are spread across the Agreste, Sertão and Zona da Mata regions. These concentrations shape campaign strategies for the 2026 presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial and legislative contests.
