Brazil advances healthcare through AI-driven diabetes monitoring and precision medicine
New technological advancements in Brazil are integrating artificial intelligence to improve chronic disease management and precision medicine. Roche Diagnóstica has introduced the Accu-Chek® SmartGuide, a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system designed for type 2 diabetes patients. Unlike standard sensors, this device uses AI algorithms to predict glycemic trends, allowing patients to anticipate and prevent episodes of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
In the biotechnology sector, Ciera Genomics is leveraging AI and bioinformatics to advance personalized healthcare. The Brazilian company integrates genetic, metabolic, and microbiota data to help medical professionals identify health predispositions and risks. After reporting R$ 3 million in revenue for 2024, Ciera Genomics aims to reach R$ 48 million by 2028 through the expansion of its diagnostic portfolio.
