Brazil advances road and rail infrastructure projects

Brazil is advancing several major infrastructure initiatives. In Mato Grosso do Sul, a bidding notice has been published for engineering studies and projects to implement a road bypass in Jardim. This bypass will connect the BR-267 and BR-060 highways, serving as a strategic component of the Rota Bioceânica, which aims to link Brazil's Center-West region to Pacific ports through Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile.

In the state of São Paulo, the environmental agency Cetesb has requested environmental impact studies (EIA/RIMA) to proceed with the reactivation of the railway line between Santos and Cajati. The project, managed by CPTM, involves a 223.6-kilometer corridor intended for passenger and freight transport, connecting the Baixada Santista to the Vale do Ribeira. The plan includes 12 municipalities and holds long-term potential for extension into the state of Paraná.
