Brazil soybean production projected at 184 million tons for 2026/27
Brazil's soybean production is projected to reach 184 million tons during the 2026/27 harvest, marking a potential third consecutive record year. According to reports from the USDA Agricultural Attaché in Brasília, this represents a nearly 2% increase compared to the 180.5 million tons produced in the 2025/26 cycle.
Soybean exports are expected to reach 117.5 million tons. While favorable early-season rains have supported planting, climate risks such as El Niño remain a concern, particularly regarding rainfall distribution and its impact on second-crop corn and cotton.
In Mato Grosso, soybean planting has accelerated significantly, reaching 75.81% of the projected area as of October 23. The Médio-Norte region leads with 96.60% of its area sown. Despite the progress in planting, some estimates suggest a slight decrease in state-level productivity due to climate volatility and rising production costs.
