Brazil allocates R$20 million in equipment to Rio de Janeiro municipalities and boosts Minas Gerais agro programs

The federal government, through the INOVA program coordinated by the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development, delivered 141 pieces of machinery—including excavators, backhoes, and utility vehicles—worth about R$20 million to 44 municipalities in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The equipment is intended to support family farming, maintain rural roads, and improve municipal services.

In Minas Gerais, the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply reported progress in land regularisation, irrigation kit distribution, and agro‑infrastructure projects during a legislative hearing. Since early 2026, the agency has issued 3,341 land‑title documents and delivered 2,559 irrigation kits, with targets to reach 18,000 titles and 20,000 kits by year‑end. The state also highlighted record agribusiness export revenues of R$101 billion in 2025 and investments in dam construction, drainage works, and equipment donations to municipal farms.

Both initiatives aim to strengthen Brazil’s agricultural sector, increase rural incomes, and reduce regional disparities.
