Brazil and China deepen cultural ties through museum visits and open‑house events

During a June mission to China, Brazil’s Ministry of Culture executive‑secretary Márcio Tavares toured major art institutions in Shanghai and Beijing, including the China Art Museum, Power Station of Art, the National Centre for the Performing Arts and the 798 Art District. He announced that Brazil will open its own space in the 798 district in September as part of the bilateral celebration of friendship.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Chinese Consulate‑General hosted an open‑house event “China pelos Meus Olhos” on 12 June, showcasing traditional tea, medicine, calligraphy and folk performances. Consul‑General Tian Min said the program aims to broaden cultural exchange and strengthen the Brazil‑China partnership ahead of 2026.

Both activities highlight an expanding cultural diplomacy agenda that complements the broader economic and scientific cooperation between the two nations.
