Brazil and Costa Rica host 2026 biodiversity and bioinnovation forums
Brazil's Diálogo Florestal will hold three online sessions on 19 August, 26 August and 2 September 2026, focusing on biodiversity metrics, regional forum priorities and alignment with the 2023‑2027 Strategic Plan. Executive coordinator Fernanda Rodrigues said the event aims to strengthen multistakeholder dialogue among companies, civil society, academia, communities and public authorities, and to influence public policies in line with the Global Biodiversity Framework from COP15.
In Costa Rica, the free Simbiosis 2026 meeting will take place on 3‑4 September at the National University (UNA). Organized with Procomer, CR Biomed, IICA, CRUSA, BIOFIN‑PNUD and the Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications, the two‑day event will bring together academia, businesses, public institutions and international experts to promote the bioeconomy, foster bio‑innovation, and develop a roadmap for a national bio‑innovation hub. It will feature keynote talks, panels, workshops, networking and a project fair aimed at turning scientific research and biodiversity into sustainable development solutions.
