Brazil and Germany Hit Record EV Sales in June 2026

In June 2026 Brazil registered a new record for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), with 21,138 units sold, placing the country fourth worldwide behind Germany, the United Kingdom and France. When hybrids and plug‑in models are included, total electrified vehicle registrations reached 47,579, a 5.88% rise from May.

Germany also posted strong figures, with 84,057 BEVs registered – 28.4% of all new vehicle sales – as part of a total of 296,378 new vehicles sold in June, up almost 16% year‑on‑year. EV registrations in Germany grew 78.2% over the past twelve months. Tesla and BYD were notable performers, with Tesla’s Model Y and BYD’s models registering significant gains.

Both markets attribute the surge to expanding charging infrastructure and the introduction of new models, underscoring accelerating consumer adoption of electric mobility in South America and Europe.
