Brazil social programs release September 2026 payment schedules

Various Brazilian social assistance programs have released their payment schedules and updated guidelines for September 2026.

Bolsa Família payments, managed by Caixa Econômica Federal, will be distributed between September 17 and September 30. The schedule is staggered based on the final digit of the beneficiary's Social Identification Number (NIS). The program maintains a minimum benefit of R$ 600 per family, with additional amounts for children, adolescents, and pregnant women. To ensure program integrity, the government is conducting a registration review (pente-fino) through CadÚnico to prevent fraud and ensure benefits reach eligible families.

The Pé-de-Meia program, aimed at public high school students, will release its September installment of R$ 200 between September 21 and September 28. Payments are organized by the beneficiary's birth month. Eligibility requires maintaining at least 80% school attendance.

Regarding future fiscal planning, the 2027 Union Budget proposal submitted to Congress does not include an increase for Bolsa Família, reserving R$ 157.1 billion for the program and maintaining the R$ 600 minimum benefit.
