Brazil appoints new Catholic parish leaders in Bemposta and Feira de Santana

The Catholic Parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição in Bemposta (Três Rios, Brazil) installed Father Marcelo Henrique Campos Ferreira as its new parish administrator. The ceremony, held during the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, was presided over by Bishop Dom Joel Portella Amado and attended by clergy from the diocese, local faithful and civil authorities. Father Marcelo expressed gratitude for the assignment and pledged to serve the community.

In Feira de Santana, the Sanctuary of Santo Antônio dos Capuchinhos received a new reitor, Friar Giovanni Messias. Archbishop Dom Zanoni Demettino Castro led the canonical possession, during which Friar Giovanni renewed his vows, took the oath of fidelity and received the insignia of his office. He affirmed his commitment to continue the evangelization work of the Capuchin friars. The same day the archdiocese announced the appointment of Friar Cristóvão Lima Matos as guardian of the convent.
