Brazil approves IDB loans for fiscal and climate projects
The Brazilian Senate and the Legislative Assembly of Paraná have moved forward with authorizations for significant international credit operations through the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), backed by federal guarantees.
In Paraná, the Legislative Assembly sent a proposal for sanction that allows the state government to contract up to US$ 100 million. These funds are intended for the Profisco III PR project, which focuses on digital transformation, tax administration, and fiscal management modernization to meet new tax reform requirements.
In Minas Gerais, the Senate approved US$ 304 million in loans. The municipality of Belo Horizonte will receive US$ 204 million to fund environmental recovery, sewage network expansion, and flood control in vulnerable areas. Additionally, the Minas Gerais Development Bank (BDMG) is authorized to secure US$ 100 million for the 'Minas Para Resultados' program, which targets climate resilience, decarbonization, and sustainable agriculture. These funds will be released in installments between 2026 and 2030.
