Brazil Approves Radio Concessions and TV Station Expansion

Brazil's Commission of Science and Technology (CCT) approved 40 concession and renewal requests for radio stations in 15 states, most of them community stations without profit motives. The approvals, presented as draft legislative decrees, were signed off by Senator Marcos Pontes and include a mix of authorization, permission and concession modalities covering FM, AM and medium‑wave services.

Separately, the Ministry of Communications' Brazil Digital program enabled the installation of public TV stations in the city of Cáceres, Mato Grosso. The municipal chamber will join the Legislative TV network, gaining access to channels such as TV Assembleia MT, TV Câmara dos Deputados and the Federal Government TV, with the aim of delivering educational and local content to residents.
