Brazil and Vietnam agricultural markets face price shifts

Agricultural markets in Brazil and Vietnam are experiencing significant shifts. In Brazil, coffee markets are facing downward pressure on prices due to high supply expectations and a record 2026 crop. An early flowering of Arabica plants, potentially linked to El Niño, suggests the 2027 harvest could arrive as early as May. Despite falling commodity prices, Brazilian retail coffee consumption rose by 4.65% in the second quadrimester of 2026, driven by milder temperatures and lower consumer costs. Additionally, the Minas Gerais coffee harvest is estimated to reach 33.4 million bags, exceeding previous projections.

In Vietnam, coffee prices in the Central Highlands have dropped to three-month lows, with Robusta and Arabica seeing significant declines. Meanwhile, rice prices in the Mekong Delta have shown slight increases in certain raw material categories. Other regional commodities, such as pepper and pork, have also seen price fluctuations, with pepper prices declining across major production zones.
