Brazil arrests suspects in stabbing at Tocantins rodeo, domestic violence case in Mato Grosso and cat‑killing incident

Police in Miracema do Tocantins, Brazil, arrested a 33‑year‑old man suspected of stabbing a 28‑year‑old man in the head and chest during a rodeo after a dispute over seating. The suspect, identified by initials V.P.M., has a violent criminal record and was taken into custody after attempting to flee.

In Chapadão do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, the Military Police detained a man accused of domestic violence after he resisted officers, shouted insults and showed signs of intoxication. The victim, who declined to press charges, had a leg fracture and police found broken glass and other evidence at the scene.

Separately, authorities in Cáceres, Mato Grosso, are investigating a 41‑year‑old man for killing a cat with a piece of wood, claiming the animal defecated near the kitchen. The suspect, Clodoaldo Candido Reis, was identified from security footage and the cat’s body was sent for veterinary examination.
