Brazil automotive market: Honda Civic hybrid loses R$65k in value as Fiat marks 50 years
The Honda Civic HEV, introduced in 2023 as an imported hybrid, has depreciated roughly 27% in Brazil. Its launch price of R$244,900 fell to an average used‑car price of R$179,033 in the July 2026 Fipe table – a loss of about R$65,000. The model, equipped with a 2.0‑litre engine plus two electric motors delivering 203 hp and 18.3 km/l city fuel efficiency, sold fewer than 2,000 units per year and only ten units in the first half of 2026.
Fiat celebrated its 50‑year presence in Brazil with a Webmotors analysis of the most‑searched Fiat models from 2006‑2016. The Palio accounted for 27% of searches, the Punto 17%, the Uno 15% and the Bravo 12%. The Palio’s 1996 launch was noted for an estimated US$1.4 billion boost to Fiat’s revenue and a 0.6% impact on Brazil’s GDP at the time.
