Brazil beef exports face new tariffs from China
Global beef trade patterns are shifting as Brazil faces new market barriers. China has implemented an additional 55% tariff on Brazilian beef shipments following the country reaching its annual quota of 1.1 million metric tons. Combined with European restrictions, these measures are expected to redirect beef demand toward the United States market.
In commodity markets, cattle futures have seen an uptick, with December live cattle futures rising to $223.70 and November feeder cattle reaching $335.10. This movement is supported by bullish supply and demand fundamentals and a significant drop in corn prices. Conversely, the lean hog futures market remains in a bearish downtrend, with December futures falling to $69.55.
