Brazil car market July 2026: VW T‑Cross leads SUV sales, Fiat Strada tops overall

In July 2026, Volkswagen’s T‑Cross remained the best‑selling SUV in Brazil with 674 units sold, a 34.1% drop from the same month a year earlier. VW’s T‑Cross II followed with 665 units, down 17.7% month‑on‑month. Hyundai Creta moved to third place with 638 units, up 32.6% from June, while Nissan Kicks surged 198.3% to 595 units. BYD Song surged to fifth with 543 units.

June 2026 overall vehicle registrations in Brazil reached 259,760 units, a 1.3% decline from May but a 28.8% increase year‑over‑year. Fiat Strada led total sales with 14,303 units. Volkswagen’s T‑Cross became the top passenger car with 11,753 registrations, overtaking the Polo (10,939). The top‑10 also featured the VW Polo, Fiat Argo, VW T‑Cross II, Chevrolet Onix, Hyundai HB20, BYD Dolphin Mini, Hyundai Creta, BYD Dolphin, and Honda HR‑V.

The data, from Fenabrave and consultancy K. Lume, show a mixed picture of modest month‑to‑month declines but strong annual growth for Brazil’s automotive sector.
