Brazil cattle prices rise on demand expectations
Beef cattle prices in Brazil saw significant movement during the third week of September. The price per arroba rose by approximately 4.41% for the week ending September 17, with São Paulo capital trading at R$ 355 for the term modality.
Analysts suggest this appreciation is driven by expectations of increased demand during the final quarter of the year. Key factors supporting firm prices include the resumption of shipments to China in October, increased sales to the United States under reduced tariffs, and rising domestic demand linked to year-end celebrations and election-related income.
While future prices remained relatively stable compared to record levels, they continue to price in significant increases starting in October. Although retail and wholesale sales saw a slight slowdown in rhythm, beef prices rose across all sectors. In the wholesale market, beef cuts such as the hindquarter and forequarter also recorded price increases.
