Brazil cellulose exports hit record high amid industry growth

Brazil's cellulose sector has reached a record milestone, with exports hitting 20.7 million tons in 2025, marking an 11.6% increase. According to the Brazilian Tree Industry (Ibá), total production also rose by 6.95% to 29.4 million tons.

Major industry players Suzano and Klabin are positioned to benefit from this growth, though their financial performance remains tied to international pulp prices, operational costs, and global demand, particularly from China. While Suzano is heavily exposed to cellulose market fluctuations, Klabin maintains a diversified portfolio including paper and packaging.

In conjunction with industry growth, Suzano is expanding its workforce in Mato Grosso do Sul. The company has announced multiple job openings in Três Lagoas, Ribas do Rio Pardo, and Bataguassu. Positions range from forestry instructors and technical operations to logistics, maintenance, and administrative roles, with application deadlines varying through late 2026.
