Recent projections from Itaú BBA suggest that the corn ethanol industry in Mato Grosso may face significant energy requirements, potentially necessitating investments in eucalyptus cultivation ranging from R$ 7.6 billion to R$ 14.3 billion. To support a projected production of 12 billion liters of corn ethanol by 2030, the state may need to reach 572,000 hectares of planted eucalyptus by 2028, up from 165,000 hectares recorded at the end of last year.
