Brazil Central Bank identifies R$6.2 billion in unclaimed funds

The Central Bank of Brazil announced that 6.241 billion reais remain unclaimed in the national financial system. The amount is split between 24.08 million individuals (R$4.437 billion) and 2.274 million companies (R$1.804 billion).

Holders can verify and claim their money through the official “Sistema de Valores a Receber” website using a Gov.br account (silver or gold level) and a linked Pix key. The portal is the sole official channel; the bank warns against third‑party links or fees.

Since the tool launched in 2022, the Central Bank has already returned R$15.47 billion to rightful owners. Part of the newly identified funds—about R$5‑8 billion—has been earmarked for the government’s Desenrola 2.0 debt‑renegotiation program, with the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) reviewing the allocation.
