Brazil coffee harvest reaches 97% completion
The coffee harvest in Brazil has reached 97% of the 2026/27 crop as of late August, according to Safras & Mercado. While the Conilon/Robusta harvest is complete, the Arabica harvest is at 96% and remains slightly behind both the previous year and the five-year average.
In the Cerrado Mineiro region, the Arabica harvest has reached 93% of the projected total, with 77% of the fruits already processed. The Cooperativa dos Cafeicultores do Cerrado (Expocacer) reported that recent rainfall has caused approximately 30% of this season's coffee to fall to the ground. Of that fallen coffee, about 54% has been collected.
Increased humidity and rainfall have impacted the pace of operations, particularly regarding the collection of coffee from the ground. Technical experts note that mechanized activities have faced interruptions, requiring farmers to utilize favorable weather windows to intensify collection and drying efforts to prevent crop loss.
