Brazil corn and soy prices show wide regional gaps in August 2026

Physical market prices for corn in Brazil displayed a sharp regional spread over the weekend of 1 August 2026, ranging from R$ 41 to R$ 68 per 60‑kg sack. The lowest quotations were recorded in Mato Grosso, where abundant safrinha harvests and freight costs depressed prices, while the highest levels were seen in southern and southeastern consumption hubs such as Porto Alegre (RS) and major ports.

In July 2026, soybean prices posted the strongest gain among Brazil’s agricultural commodities, rising 8.5% from the end of June, according to Cepea data for Paranaguá (PR). Beef (boi gordo) also increased, up about 3%, while corn showed a modest 2.6% rise. The livestock replacement market recorded its biggest year‑to‑date gains, with calf prices up 10.1% since the end of 2025. These movements reflect divergent regional supply‑demand dynamics and are guiding producers, cooperatives and processors in their short‑term sales strategies.
