Brazil court orders Sergio Moro campaign to remove misleading posts

The Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) has issued an urgent injunction against the campaign of Sergio Moro and his running mate, Edson Vasconcelos (PL). The court ordered the removal of five social media posts from Instagram and Facebook within 24 hours.

The decision follows allegations that the campaign manipulated polling data by associating an internal percentage with an official poll registered with the Electoral Justice. While the campaign claimed Moro held 52.1% of valid votes, the actual Neokemp/O Correio do Povo poll showed 46.9%. The judge ruled that the posts failed to clarify that the numbers were not produced by the cited institute, creating a potential for misleading voters. The campaign is also required to preserve copies of the removed materials for 60 days for future legal proceedings.
