Brazil cryptocurrency adoption reaches 17.2% of population

The 2nd National Cryptocurrency Survey, conducted by Paradigma Education in partnership with Datafolha, reveals significant growth in digital asset adoption in Brazil. Approximately 17.2% of the population, or nearly 29 million people, have owned or currently own cryptocurrencies. Knowledge of the sector has increased by 10.1 percentage points since 2025, with 66.4% of Brazilians now familiar with the technology.

Traditional and digital banking applications have emerged as the primary gateway for new investors, offering convenience and security that outweighs the appeal of specialized exchanges. The survey also highlights a regional trend, with the Center-West region seeing increased adoption driven largely by the agribusiness sector.

Despite this growth, barriers remain for some; 77% of those interested but not yet investing cite technological complexity as a major hurdle. Additionally, the survey indicates a growing political awareness among investors, who increasingly prioritize candidates in the National Congress who support the development and regulation of the crypto ecosystem.
