Brazil dairy shows focus on winter pastures and market competitiveness

On July 8 2026, Bom Jesus do Sul in Paraná hosted a field day on winter pastures for dairy cows. Organized by the Institute of Rural Development of Paraná (IDR‑Paraná) together with the municipal Agriculture and Environment Secretariat, the event presented oat cultivars, soil‑management techniques and feeding strategies aimed at improving herd nutrition, reducing production costs and promoting sustainable pasture management. Local officials, cooperatives, technical staff and dozens of dairy producers attended the demonstrations on a farm belonging to the Padilha family.

On July 12 2026, Ijuí in Rio Grande do Sul launched the second Milk Summit Mercosul, which will take place on 14‑15 October with an expected attendance of over 800 participants. The launch program highlighted the sector’s competitiveness against Argentina and Uruguay, introduced the StoneX Milk Futures risk‑management tool, and featured panels on financial derivatives, public‑policy frameworks and the future of the milk market. The summit is organised by Seapi, Sindilat/RS, the Ijuí municipality and a range of agricultural agencies and cooperatives.
