Brazil delivers homes to 700 families in Tocantins under Minha Casa program

Senator Dorinha and federal housing agencies secured approval for 522 rural housing units in Tocantins, targeting families in the countryside, indigenous and quilombola communities across municipalities such as Arraias, Araguaína and Porto Nacional. The projects are part of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida Rural program and were published in the Official Gazette on 15 June.

On 17 June, Minister of Cities Vladimir Lima visited the state, handed over the 100‑unit Porto Mais Habitação Tropical residential complex in Porto Nacional and signed authorisations to start construction of 40 additional homes in Araguanã and Carrasco Bonito. The day’s agenda will benefit about 700 families – roughly 2 800 people – through several new developments, including the Martins Jorge and São Miguel complexes in Araguaína and the Amazônia project. Federal investment in Tocantins totals R$ 4.2 billion, with 12.1 k housing units contracted, R$ 1.9 billion earmarked for the state and ongoing deliveries of 6.4 k units.
