Brazil electoral authorities issue guidelines for 2026 poll workers

Election authorities in Brazil are issuing directives for poll workers (mesários) ahead of the 2026 general elections. In São Paulo, the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-SP) has summoned over 413,000 poll workers and 51,000 logistics staff. To receive the R$ 65 food allowance per shift, workers must register their CPF as a Pix key by specific deadlines.

In Nova Olímpia, the local Electoral Office is calling on specific individuals to regularize pending issues, including those who have not responded to contact attempts or have not completed mandatory training. Officials noted that failure to complete training via the Mesário app or in person may necessitate the replacement of workers to ensure the organization of polling stations.
