Brazilian election probe targets Simone Tebet, Marina Silva, Manuela d'Ávila and Flávio Bolsonaro

Deputy Ricardo Salles (Novo‑SP) asked the Ministério Público Eleitoral to investigate Simone Tebet’s (PSB) transfer of her electoral domicile from Mato Grosso do Sul to São Paulo, arguing it may breach the three‑month residency requirement. Salles likened the case to the 2022 annulment of Sergio Moro’s similar transfer and also questioned Marina Silva’s (Rede) alleged lack of ties to São Paulo.

Pre‑candidate Júlia Zardo (Novo) filed two complaints with the electoral prosecutor against Senate candidate Manuela d'Ávila (PSOL), alleging illegal pre‑campaign activities: a political‑musical event called “Nave da Manu” and a social‑media video showing her wearing a party‑numbered shirt.

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL‑RJ) faces a possible fine of up to R$ 25,000 if the Tribunal Superior Eleitoral finds that a video of his father’s endorsement letter constitutes early electoral propaganda. The case is being examined by the MPF and the TSE, with the candidate registration deadline set for 15 August.
