Brazil Embassy in Caracas reactivates consular services
The Brazilian Embassy in Caracas has announced the formal reactivation of its consular services and in-person assistance. The institution stated that consular operations are once again being provided normally at its diplomatic headquarters in Venezuela.
Interested individuals can inquire about requirements via WhatsApp or official consular email. Once documentation is gathered, appointments must be scheduled through designated telephone lines. A specific emergency line, the ‘Plantão Consular’, has also been established to assist Brazilian citizens facing emergencies within Venezuelan territory.
This reorganization follows the conclusion of Brazil’s role as the custodian of the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela on August 10, 2026. Brazil had been representing Argentine interests since August 2024, following the expulsion of Argentine diplomats due to political tensions regarding the July 28 presidential election results. The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the shift in mission structure is a technical reorganization in response to the current political context in Venezuela.
