Brazil ethanol prices fall in 22 states and Federal District

According to data from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the average price of hydrated ethanol in Brazil fell by 1.50% during the week of August 2 to August 8, dropping from R$ 4.00 to R$ 3.94 per liter.

Prices decreased in 22 states and the Federal District, while rising in Mato Grosso do Sul and remaining stable in Espírito Santo and Roraima. In São Paulo, the country’s primary producer and consumer, the average price fell by 1.89% to R$ 3.63 per liter. The most significant decline occurred in Acre, where prices dropped by 2.36%.

Regarding competitiveness against gasoline, ethanol showed a national average parity of 60.15%. Ethanol is generally considered economically advantageous when its price is up to 70% of the cost of gasoline.
