Brazil expands advanced therapy access and healthcare infrastructure in Ceará
The Brazilian Ministry of Health, Fiocruz, and institutions in Ceará have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand access to advanced therapies within the Unified Health System (SUS). The partnership aims to establish a development and production center for CAR-T cell therapies in Ceará, utilizing a Point-of-Care (POC) model. This approach involves installing modular laboratories near patient care sites to reduce logistical costs and accelerate treatment for hematological diseases.
In addition to advanced therapy expansion, federal investments are being directed toward primary and specialized healthcare infrastructure in Ceará. Under the Novo PAC Saúde program, construction is underway for new facilities, including a Normal Birth Center (CPN) and a Basic Health Unit (UBS) in Horizonte. These projects aim to modernize maternity care and provide specialized environments for vaccination, medication, and support for women facing violence.
