Brazil expands digital ID and state app services

The Federal Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services promoted the digital version of the National Identity Card (CIN) through the GOV.BR mobile app, noting that about 55.8 million people have already issued the digital ID. Users can download the CIN after receiving the printed document, and the app can also store other documents such as voter registration, driver’s licence and work permit. The ministry warned citizens against scams that request personal data outside the official platform.

The Government of Ceará launched a redesigned official app, Ceará Digital, replacing the older Ceará App. Developed by ÍRIS LabGov, the new platform offers a simplified, faster user experience, including a geolocation‑based map of public services for women’s protection and a personalised “life‑event” navigation system. The app aggregates state services in one place and is now available on Google Play and the App Store.
