Brazil expands digital television access in Mato Grosso do Sul and Roraima

The Brazilian Ministry of Communications has announced measures to expand digital television access across various regions. In Mato Grosso do Sul, seven municipalities—Água Clara, Tacuru, Iguatemi, Sonora, Caarapó, Bela Vista, and Novo Horizonte do Sul—have received authorization for the retransmission of digital signals. These authorizations allow companies such as Televisão Cidade Modelo Ltda. and Sociedade Campograndense de Televisão Limitada to operate specific channels to improve information and entertainment access in areas with inadequate coverage.

Simultaneously, the Brasil Antenado program is offering free satellite antenna installations to eligible families in the Roraima municipalities of Alto Alegre, Amajari, and Uiramutã. This initiative targets residents registered in CadÚnico who lack adequate open television signals. The program, managed by the Entidade Administradora da Faixa (EAF) and monitored by Anatel, aims to provide access to over 100 channels with improved audio and video quality. This effort is part of a broader national strategy to expand telecommunications infrastructure and connectivity.
