São Paulo expands flu, measles and yellow‑fever vaccination sites

The São Paulo Municipal Health Secretariat increased the number of vaccination locations to 400 across the city from June 8‑12 as part of Brazil’s National Immunization Day. Sites include the Municipal Market, Ipiranga Museum, Catavento Museum, Thomaz Mazzoni Olympic Center, CEAGESP, Mooca Park, the Guaianases sub‑prefecture and several malls, supermarkets, bus terminals and train stations. The campaign targets free vaccines against influenza, measles and yellow fever for anyone aged six months and older, aiming to boost coverage and protect the population from respiratory viruses.

At the same time, health officials warned of a rise in influenza‑A cases nationwide, with most states reporting severe acute respiratory syndrome alerts. Experts emphasized vaccination as the most effective way to curb the spread, protect vulnerable groups and reduce pressure on health services. The vaccines are administered free of charge and have passed ANVISA safety reviews.
