Brazil expands free student transport passes in Goiás and DF

The government of Goiás has opened registration for the Student Free Pass (PLE) until 30 September 2026 for students in the Greater Goiânia and Anápolis areas. The benefit provides up to 48 trips per month for pupils in public and private schools. Applicants in Goiânia must register online and submit identification, address, enrollment proof and a photo; cards are issued within 15 days. In Anápolis the process is in‑person at the Urban Mobility office, with cards delivered in up to seven days. The programme aims to curb school dropout by guaranteeing mobility.

In the Federal District, a similar Free Student Pass is available to students who live or work more than one kilometre from their school. The card allows up to four rides per day (54 per month) and can be extended online. Registrations can be made through a web portal or at service points, requiring personal data, a recent photo, proof of residence, identity documents and a school‑issued enrollment declaration. After approval, users receive an email with card‑pickup instructions. Both initiatives are part of Brazil's effort to support student transportation and reduce educational absenteeism.
