Brazil expands school and community programs to combat domestic violence

The FloreSer project, run by the Núcleo das Promotorias de Enfrentamento da Violência Doméstica e Familiar, resumed activities at Escola Estadual Raimundo Pinheiro in Cuiabá. Fourteen high‑school classes participated in discussion circles about psychological and moral violence, early warning signs, and the influence of machismo and social‑media discourse. Justice promoter Claire Vogel Dutra warned that such behaviors can develop in adolescence and later contribute to femicide.

In Taquara, Rio Grande do Sul, the house‑exhibition "Nem Tão Doce Lar" opened, organized by the Lutheran Diaconia Foundation with Lar Padilha and ABEFI. The interactive display recreates home rooms to reveal various forms of violence affecting women, children, LGBTQIAPN+ people and the elderly. Officials highlighted 25,196 reported cases of violence against women in the state during the first half of 2026, including 122 attempted and 41 consummated femicides, stressing the need for public awareness and school‑based prevention.
