Brazil expands support and training for female entrepreneurs

Various Brazilian initiatives are expanding support for female entrepreneurship through specialized guidance and training programs. In Campo Grande, Sebrae representatives visited the ‘Sala da Mulher Empreendedora’ to evaluate its service model for potential nationwide replication. The center, operated by the Secretaria Executiva da Mulher (Semu) in partnership with Sebrae, has provided 630 consultations since January, assisting women with business formalization, professional training, and microcredit access.

In João Pessoa, the ‘Elas Lideram’ program, a partnership between Sedest and Sebrae-PB, has selected 70 women to participate in leadership and business development training. The program offers both in-person and remote classes designed to promote economic autonomy and market insertion.

Additionally, in São José, the local government uses its ‘Sala do Empreendedor’ to provide microentrepreneurs (MEIs) with essential information regarding formalization, credit, and social security rights, such as maternity leave and retirement benefits.
