Brazil expands women’s entrepreneurship training with workshops in Mato Grosso and Maceió

The Ministry of Public of Mato Grosso is running the MP Por Elas project in Cuiabá’s Shopping Três Américas, offering free workshops on beauty, entrepreneurship, marketing, well‑being, personal development and labor‑market qualification until the end of July. The initiative, part of the Diálogos com a Sociedade program, partners with Senac, the municipality and local businesses to promote financial autonomy and awareness of domestic violence. A quote from sub‑prosecutor Januária Dorilêo stresses that “financial autonomy is a fundamental step for women to gain freedom, security and self‑esteem.”

In Alagoas, the Maceió city hall launched training for 2,000 women selected under the fifth edition of the Banco da Mulher Empreendedora program, with SEBRAE support. Participants receive a R$1,200 credit and instruction in strategic planning, cost structure and value proposition. Since its start in 2022, the program has assisted nearly 10,000 women and the city has invested R$12 million. Beneficiaries like Rosângela Santos and Priscilla describe the aid as a “trampoline” and a means to expand their businesses.
