Brazil implements various agricultural support and management initiatives
Several Brazilian government and regional initiatives are currently targeting the strengthening of family farming and rural development. In Bahia, the Sertão Vivo Bahia project has extended its application deadline for entities to provide technical assistance to 20,000 farming families across 47 municipalities. This initiative, supported by BNDES and the Green Climate Fund, aims to promote sustainable practices and climate resilience.
In Mato Grosso, the MT Produtivo project, coordinated by the State Secretariat of Family Agriculture in partnership with the World Bank, is accepting applications from cooperatives and associations until October 26. The program seeks to select at least 128 rural enterprises to provide technical support and financial resources for production expansion and market access.
At the federal level, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (MDA) has extended the deadline for its Rural Access and Development Network public call to October 29, 2026. The program allocates R$ 50 million to support projects that improve access to credit, market commercialization, and legal documentation for family farmers nationwide.
Additionally, agricultural entities in Mato Grosso, including Famato and Acrismat, are coordinating efforts to improve the management and control of invasive wild boars, which pose sanitary and production risks to local livestock and the environment.
