Brazil Extends ENEM 2026 Registration Deadline to June 12

The Ministry of Education (MEC) and the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep) announced that registration for the 2026 National High School Exam (ENEM) has been extended to 12 June 2024. Candidates must register through the ENEM Participant Portal. The deadline for payment of the R$ 85 fee for non‑exempt applicants is now 17 June. The exam dates remain unchanged, scheduled for 8 and 15 November across the country.

Applicants eligible for fee exemption include students in the third year of public high schools, those who completed all high‑school schooling in public schools or as full‑scholarship private‑school students with family income up to one‑and‑a‑half minimum wages, and beneficiaries of the federal CadÚnico program. Participants in the federal “Pé‑de‑Meia” programme who graduate in 2026 and attend both exam days will receive an additional R$ 200 incentive.

The updated edital also expands provisions for specialized assistance (e.g., for disabilities, pregnancy, chronic illnesses) and for treatment under a preferred name or gender identity, automatically applying to trans‑identified registrants based on federal tax records. The extended registration period gives prospective candidates an extra week to complete these requests.
