Brazil extends eSocial deadline for 2026 Abono Salarial payments

The Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) has set a new deadline of 20 June for employers to submit 2024 worker data to the eSocial system. Accurate reporting is required for workers to qualify for the Abono Salarial benefit, which will be paid on 15 October 2026.

Eligibility for the benefit includes five years of registration in the PIS or Pasep program, an average monthly salary of no more than R$ 2,766 in the 2024 base year, and at least 30 days of paid work. The MTE provides an employer guidance manual and urges firms to audit details such as CPF, hiring and termination dates, salary, and employment category before filing.

Payments will be made primarily through Caixa Econômica Federal or Banco do Brasil, using account credits, PIX, TED or cash distribution channels for non‑account holders.
